North London’s own Louis Dunford has shared his debut album ‘Be Lucky’ in full.
The songwriter’s approach is derived from honesty, reflecting his life, and the lives of those around him.
Early single ‘The Angel (North London Forever)’ is already a firmly established anthem – picked up by Arsenal for their home games, it’s practically a part of the area’s bedrock.
There’s a lot more to Louis Dunford than that, however. Debut album ‘Be Lucky’ tackles sexuality, grief, and pursuance, with each song etched in his life.
The title track, for instance, looks back on a horrific incident where his friend, at just 16, died in his arms after being stabbed in Islington. There’s joy here, too, as well as hope, with the album finding strength and resilience in community.
