Maserati Project24 Makes Its Debut As The 740 HP MC20 Track Car

The car shouldn’t weigh more than 2,756 pounds, says Maserati.

Renderings of the Maserati Project24 show a future version of the MC20 that will only be used on the track. Only 62 will be made by the company. It won’t say yet how much it will cost or when deliveries will start.

Project24 adds two new turbochargers to the 3.0-liter Nettuno V6. This increases the engine’s power to 740 horsepower (552 kilowatts) from 621 horsepower (463 kW) in the road-going MC20. The track-only model has a six-speed sequential gearbox with a limited-slip, self-locking mechanical differential, while the regular car has an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Project24 has adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars to help it get around the track. It has carbon-ceramic brakes made by Brembo. The car has 18-inch forged wheels with a center lock.

The Centro Stile Maserati changes the way the MC20 looks to make it better on the track. The version that can go on the road doesn’t have headlights in front. A big hole in the hood helps move air over the car’s body. Both the front splitter and the back wing can be moved so that the car’s aerodynamics can be fine-tuned on the track.

A big wing is on the back. Maserati raises the exhaust pipes on the back bumper so that the diffuser can be made bigger.

Maserati thinks the Project24 will be lighter than 2,756 pounds (1,250 kilograms). The road car, on the other hand, weighs 3,306 pounds (1,500 kilograms).

Since this is a race car, Maserati took the interior out of the MC20 to make the Project24. The cabin has a roll cage and a fire extinguisher that meet FIA rules. The driver is held in place by a six-point harness, and this person holds on to a carbon-fiber steering wheel that can be used for many things. Racing ABS and traction control can be changed.

Maserati has a number of upgrades that can be added to Project24. Buyers will be able to add a passenger seat, a rear-view camera, telemetry recording, an in-car camera, a display for optimizing driving performance, and a system that checks tyre pressure.

Buyers of Project24 will be able to take part in track events that Maserati will help them with. Only people who bought this limited-edition model will be able to go to these meetings.
