After the Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S21 is the second Samsung phone to receive the October 2022 security patch. More Galaxy S21 devices are becoming available, and Samsung is currently promoting the firmware for both the unlocked variant in the United States and in Germany.
In the USA, the latest update for the unlocked Galaxy S21 is denoted by the firmware version G99xU1UES5CVI8, while in Germany, it is denoted by G99xBXXS5CVIF. The new version doesn’t add any new Android OS or One UI features, thus the changelog is short. The security patch released in October 2022 just strengthens security; the security bulletin has not been updated. Only Samsung is aware of the security issues that have been fixed, but we’ll let you know as soon as the changelog is available. Whatever the situation, it should increase the Galaxy S21 trio’s level of security, so that’s typically a good thing.
In addition to Germany, we anticipate that Samsung will shortly roll out the new October 2022 security patch in more European nations. In case you missed it, the update has already begun to roll out for the American Galaxy S21 carrier variations.
Open the Settings app on your Galaxy S21, select “Software update,” and then touch “Download and install” to download the update, if it is available. If you’d prefer to manually download and install the new firmware on your phone using a PC, you can also locate it on our website.
