Mum speaks on 2Baba, Annie marriage crash

The mother of Nigerian music icon 2Face Idibia, Mrs. Idibia, has made a shocking revelation on her son’s turbulent marriage to Annie Idibia.

Mrs. Idibia claims that even though she was aware that her son had five children from prior marriages, she at first embraced Annie into their family. But as time went on, she became aware of Annie’s change in behaviour, which caused their relationship to fall apart.

According to Mrs. Idibia, Annie turned against her, criticising her and referring to her as a “wicked woman” and a “witch.” She also asserted that Annie’s actions had an impact on 2Face’s siblings and cousins, among other family members.

In recent months, 2Face’s marital dispute gained media attention due to rumours of a pending divorce. Mrs. Idibia voiced her worries about Annie’s health, especially in light of her addiction to drugs issues.

Noting the value of keeping their family intact for the sake of their children, Mrs. Idibia urged her son to drop the divorce case and focus on working out their differences.

She said; “As the mother of 2face Idibia, I feel compelled to share my side of the story regarding his marriage to Annie. I welcomed Annie into our family with open arms, despite knowing that my son had five children from previous relationships.”

“Initially, everything seemed fine, and I was happy to see my son settling down with Annie, who had been by his side during his rise to fame. However, over time, I noticed changes in her behavior. Whenever I wanted to visit, she would say they wouldn’t be around and would tell me when they returned.”

“When I needed help, she would respond saying they were struggling too. I tried to mediate when my son started having issues with other women, but my efforts were met with resistance. Annie accused me of supporting my son, which wasn’t true.”

“One day, I received insults from Annie, who called me a witch and a wicked woman. I was devastated. My family, including 2face’s siblings and cousins, faced similar insults.”

“Recently, I learned that 2face and Annie have been separated and are pending divorce. I urged my son to withdraw the divorce case and work on resolving their issues. I’m particularly concerned about Annie, who is currently in rehab for drug abuse. I pray for her recovery and hope they can reconcile for the sake of their children.”
