Musician Brooks Young, 42, who worked with multiple megastars is killed in car crash

A celebrated musician has died following a fatal car accident in New Hampshire.

Brooks Young, 42, died on Friday morning after a car crash in Alton. Details on the circumstances of the crash have not yet been released.

The married father-of-three was known to have worked with many megastars such as B.B King, REO Speedwagon and Bryan Adams.

He was a devoted musician from an early age after his grandfather had taught him to play guitar.

His family said that Brooks ‘was a special person to so many in his music career’.

Young worked with many great musicians such as B.B King, REO Speedwagon, and Bryan Adams

Young shared the stage and recording studio with many other great artists, including recording a special with Bryan Adams over the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Young’s bandmate and friend, Jeff LeRoy, wrote on Facebook that Brooks was a ‘gifted musician and a kind soul who understood the magic of music and the bond of true friendship.’

‘Behind his vibrant stage presence was a thoughtful, gentle spirit who touched so many. His music and warmth will echo on,’ he said.

His wife, Andrea Jalbert Young, shared a post on Facebook which said: ‘On Friday morning, we received the devastating news that Brooks was tragically killed in a car accident. Our family is still trying to process this unimaginable loss, which has left us heartbroken.’

‘We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support from everyone who has reached out to Carter and me during this time. Thank you for holding us in your thoughts as we navigate this difficult journey,’ she added.

His family said that Brooks ‘was a special person to so many in his music career’

Bandmate and friend, Jeff LeRoy, wrote on Facebook that Brooks was a ‘gifted musician and a kind soul who understood the magic of music and the bond of true friendship’

‘It’s shocking. I think a lot of us are just trying to wrap our heads around this news right now,’ LeRoy told WMUR.

‘He absolutely achieved his dreams. At the same time, he was never somebody to settle. He was always growing, always aspiring to become a better performer and musician.’

‘I just wish we could have had him longer to see what he was going to do next,’ he added.

Andrea Young shared that a wake will be held to honor his memory on November 18 in Tilton, New Hampshire.
