Teenage sensation Muyeez, initially signed to Vibez Inc and Dapper Music, has put out a statement saying that he has officially parted ways with Dapper Music.
In a similar fashion to Shallipopi, he listed out a couple of issues that didn’t sit well with him and ultimately led to his dissatisfaction with the situation.
He says he was just a minor when he signed the contract and he was burdened with impossible demands. He claimed he hadn’t been paid any form of royalty from his three EPs that reached the number one spot on the charts.
He said “while my music brought joy to countless fans, I was left to fend for myself. There were nights when I went to bed hungry, with no support from the very people that claimed to have my best interests at heart. Dapper Music and Entertainment Company Limited left me abandoned, providing no financial aid and transparency about the revenue my music generated. I was treated as a commodity, not as a young artist with dreams and aspirations.
In response to Muyeez’s and Shallipopi’s statements yesterday, Dapper Music has put out a statement this morning addressing the statements as co-ordinated attacks on their reputation by both artists. They denied the allegations raised against them and reiterated their position on moving artists forward.
