The love triangle of the Cleaning Lady is about to become a quadrilateral situation.
Alumnus gone missing Naveen Andrews has joined the Fox drama as a series regular for Season 2, according to TVLine. In the new episodes, he’ll play Robert Kamdar, Arman’s wife Nadia’s “gregarious and charming” ex-lover.
According to his character description, Robert is determined to drive a schism between Arman and Nadia, leaving Arman to fight for his world and dignity while rebuilding his life in the most difficult of circumstances. Andrews’ casting comes less than two weeks after Nadia’s actress, Eva De Dominici, was promoted to series regular for Season 2.
Andrews is best known for his Emmy-nominated performance as Lost’s Sayid. He recently co-starred in Hulu’s true-crime miniseries The Dropout, which received six Emmy nominations of its own this year. Sense8, Instinct, and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland are among his other credits.
The Cleaning Lady returns for its sophomore season on Monday, September 19 at 9/8c, picking up after Thony’s son is abducted by his father. According to the official synopsis, Thony will enlist the assistance of FBI Agent Miller to track down Marco before he leaves the country with Luca, while an incident involving Chris forces Fiona to “shield her son by any means necessary, furthering the theme of how far a mother will go to protect her child.”
