Dylan himself has supported the film on social media – an unusual move for the enigmatic artist – and now another huge seal of approval has come in: Neil Young.
The Canadian artist was energised by the 60s folk scene, and has always spoken emphatically of Dylan’s impact on his own work.
Writing on Neil Young Archivesthe songwriter said he “loved” the film, and recommended it to fans. He said:
“I love Bob Dylan and his music. Always have. He’s a great artist. Once he was on my bus and I didn’t recognize him and threw him off but that’s another story. This movie is a great tribute to his life and music. I think if you love Bob’s music you should see this great movie. I loved it.”
So there we have it! A Complete Unknown goes on general release in the UK from January 17th.
