NTS Radio Invites Artists To Create Clothing Capsules For The Holiday Season

Frank Dorrey, Poison Girlfriend and Spacebrat have each created a range of t-shirts, hoodies and accessories for NTS.

London’s own NTS Radio has built a rich legacy and community over the past thirteen years. Founded in Dalson in 2011 by Femi Adeyemi, the independent radio station now boasts three million unique monthly listeners as it broadcasts music from over eighty cities around the world. Built by and for music lovers with a dedication to local community, NTS has become renowned for its pioneering attitude to broadcasting and for championing local and independent artists and musicians through unique collaborations and launches.

This season, NTS has launched a series of collaborative projects with a group of artists and designers. First up is a capsule in partnership with New Jersey artist Frank Dorreyrenowned for his surrealist artworks created using his iPhone – Dorrey’s digital works explore themes of community and togetherness. For this collaboration, Dorrey created three printed t-shirts named “lovers”, “squish face” and “womb alongside a print and boxing cat car air freshener.

Japanese musician Noriko Sekughi, also known as POiSON GiRL FRiENDcollaborated with NTS on the second capsule. A multifaceted artist with talents spanning singing, songwriting, composing, producing and DJing, Sekughi is renowned for her unique sound that blends influences from her youth spent in France, Brazil and Japan, fusing French pop with Brazilian dance music and British new wave. Transferring her experimental approach to this capsule, Sekughi has designed two t-shirts, two caps and a hoodie.

The third and final NTS collaboration is in partnership with Jasmine Monsegue, better known by her moniker Spacebrat. The Houston, Texas born and raised visual artist is best known for her surrealist fashion pieces and airbrush projects, most famously airbrushing a portrait of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes onto a t-shirt. For this NTS capsule, Spacebrat airbrushed and printed a series of designs onto four-shirts, and embossed her own monster creation dubbed “Diamonds” onto a hoodie and a stainless steel lighter.
