Nubia has brought another RedMagic-branded gaming monitor to market in China. Sold as a 2K monitor, the RedMagic monitor actually offers a 2.5K native resolution, as well as a 240 Hz refresh rate, among other features.

Nubia has finally started selling the second of the two RedMagic gaming monitors that it announced in July. To recap, Nubia presented two 27-inch gaming monitors aimed at Esports gamers, both with high contrast ratios and peak brightness levels. For some reason, it took the company until October to release the 4K and 160 Hz edition and until December before bringing the 2.5K and 240 Hz version to market.

At the heart of the latter is an IPS panel operating at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (2.5K) and 400 nits. According to Nubia, the 2.5K edition is DisplayHDR 400 certified, offers 99% sRGB colour space coverage and delivers sub 2 Delta E colour deviations from factory. Nubia has not installed 1,152 local Mini LED dimming zones like its 4K sibling, though. Regardless, the 2.5K edition comes with the following ports:

  • 1x DC input
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 2x HDMI 2.0
  • 2x USB 3.0 Type-A
  • 1x USB 3.0 Type-B
  • 1x USB Type-C (90 W Power Delivery)

The 2.5K and 240 Hz RedMagic gaming monitor will be available for CNY 6,699 (~US$961) in China, althoughGizmochinainsists that the monitor actually costs CNY 2,499 (~US$358). Unfortunately, a global launch date remains unknown, which also applies to its 4K and 160 Hz sibling. Sales for the 2.5K edition start later today in China.
