A girl’s best friend is a ghost.
Marilyn Monroe is portrayed by Ana de Armas in the new film “Blonde,” and she feels that the cast felt her presence among them.
“I believe she was content. When she didn’t like something, she would also occasionally toss items off the wall and get angry, De Armas reportedly told reporters at the Venice Film Festival.
It may sound magical, yet this is actually the case. All of us felt it.
The 34-year-old “Knives Out” actress continued, “I think Moroe was always nearby.”
“I genuinely think she was close to us. She was with us, according to De Armas.
According to Andrew Dominik, the director of the movie, who also acknowledged feeling her presence, “It absolutely took on characteristics of being like a seance.”
Mysticism has been a part of “Blonde” from the beginning. On August 4, the anniversary of Monroe’s death in 1962, the biopic’s filming got underway. At the age of 36, she overdosed and passed away.
The beginning of the film was filmed in the same apartment where Monroe had lived with her mentally ill mother, making the atmosphere even creepier, according to Reuters. Additionally, her death scene was filmed in the exact room where Monroe had died.
De Armas previously said that when she was contacted for the role, she knew very little about Monroe, but that she did research on her while getting ready for the movie.
She was with me, and it was magnificent, de Armas remarked. “She was all I thought about, all I dreamed about, all I could talk about.”
De Armas, who has a noticeable Cuban accent, even employed a voice coach to replicate Monroe’s speech pattern.
De Armas was the ideal candidate for the position from the start, and Dominick understood this.
As soon as he saw her on television, he stated, “I knew it was her.” It’s quite similar to when you fall in love because you can usually tell when the appropriate person is entering the room.
Adrien Brody and Julianne Nicholson are also featured in “Blonde,” which had its world debut on Thursday at the Venice Film Festival.
