P-atone of the leading lights of Black British electronic music, will release a new EP ‘Can’t Be Me’ on March 28th via the label head’s own Nevermind Recordings.
‘Can’t Be Me’ is the London producer’s first project since 2024’s ‘Movement’. The EP reveal comes with the slow-build, classic house notes of ‘Feel That’, which moves between euphoria and ecstasy. Featuring the vocal flourishes of LA artistDrewbyrdthe single showcases p-rallel’s experiments derived from London’s club scene and his global ambitions.
‘Can’t Be Me’ is informed by the DJ/producer’s tour internationally; in the last month he travelled extensively around Asia and Australia. The four-track EP captures the sensory experience of experiencing music in communion, blending gospel house, garage, soul with p-rallel’s mission to move the mind, body and soul.
“This project is an evolved version of me,”p-rallel shares about quest for true creative autonomy.“I wanted to capture the feeling of connection I get from DJing, but in my own way – taking that energy and turning it into something fresh. I’m aiming towards 100% of my own production. As a DJ, that’s where I’m wanting to go.”
