Paris Hilton reveals the name of her son and explains why she and Carter Reum kept the birth a secret from relatives.

Paris Hilton has revealed the identity of her son.

The 42-year-old social media businesswoman, reality actress, and DJ said on her podcast “This is Paris” Wednesday that she called her baby Phoenix and that no one knew about him until he was a week old, not even her mother Kathy Hilton, or sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild.

Hilton stunned fans last month when she revealed on Instagram that she and her husband, venture investor Carter Reum, who turns 42 this month, had welcomed their first child together.

“For the time being, we’ve simply kept things incredibly secret,” Hilton remarked on her podcast.

“No one, not even my mother, sister, or best friends, knew until he was over a week old, so it was really lovely just to have that with Carter be our own journey together because I just feel like my life has been so public, and I’ve never really had anything just be mine.”

Hilton also stated that she chose to keep her baby news a secret even from close relatives due to the difficulties of keeping a secret while living in the public eye.

“If you tell one person, they tell someone, and then it’s all over TMZ or Page Six,” she explained. “So Carter and I basically formed a pact together not to tell anyone.”

She then read an excerpt from her upcoming book “Paris: The Memoir,” which will be released on March 2, explaining the purpose of the name Phoenix.

Paris Hilton and husband Carter Reum have had their first child, a boy, who is ‘loved beyond words.’

“If all goes well, Carter and I will have a baby boy by the time you read this,” Hilton wrote. “We intend to name him Phoenix, a name I chose years ago while looking at cities, countries, and states on a map for something to go with Paris and London.”

She went on to say: “More importantly, it is the bird that burns out before rising from the ashes to soar again. I want my son to grow up understanding that disaster and triumph cycle through our lives and that this should offer us great optimism for the future.”

Paris Hilton is lobbying for change in Washington, DC after releasing new sexual abuse charges.

In a statement to People in January, Hilton discussed her life as a mother.

“Being a mother has always been my dream, and I’m so glad Carter and I found each other,” she said. “We are overjoyed to begin our family together, and our hearts overflow with love for our baby son.”
