Photos of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Fold 3 show that small changes make a big difference.

Samsung has now confirmed that its next Unpacked event will be on August 10 and has started bragging about its bendable phones, saying that they are better than the “flat” phones made by its competitors. A few days ago, official drawings of the Fold 4 got out, and an alleged official video also showed a glimpse of it.

Those renders seem to show that the Fold 4 will look a lot like its predecessor. While it’s likely that the phone will have the same overall look as the model it will replace, Samsung has made a few small but important changes, as shown by a couple of images shared by well-known leaker Ice Universe.

The first picture shows the top front parts of the Vivo X Fold, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 3 next to each other. The Fold 4 looks more elegant than the Fold 3 because its hinge is smaller and its bezels are thinner.

The second image shows how the outside displays of Fold 4 and Fold 3 might be different. If you look closely, you can see that the Fold 4 seems to have a wider aspect ratio, which was hinted at by leaked case images and rumors. Because of its tall aspect ratio, the Fold 3’s outer screen can be hard to use. With the next generation, this will change. Leaks say that the outer screen will have a ratio of 23:9, which is wider than Fold 3’s ratio of 24.5:9, and that the inner screen will have a ratio of 6:5 instead of 5:4.

The Fold 4’s screen will be about the same size as the Fold 3’s, which is 7.56 inches by 6.19 inches, so a wider aspect ratio will give it a little more space.

As for the rest of the design, not much is changing, except that the crease in the main display might be less obvious and the phone might be a little lighter.

The new phone is likely to have a better camera than the old one, which could make it better than the best popular phones of 2022.

The Fold 4 is said to come with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 processor and 4,400mAh battery as the Fold 3. Most likely, the phone will cost the same as the Fold 3.

You can now place a pre-order, which will get you special rewards.
