In contrast, social media fans exploded in praise for the Duke of Sussex’s treatment of wife Meghan Markle while criticising the Prince of Wales, the next monarch to inherit the throne, for his apparent lack of chivalry with wife Kate Middleton in a viral video posted across various platforms.

 

Prince Harry can be seen escorting his wife to their shared car, attentively opening and closing the door for her, while the Prince and Princess of Wales separately enter the car. This is as the two couples get ready to leave the large crowd gathered outside Windsor Castle to pay their respects to the queen.

One Twitter user simply said, “Harry holds the car door open for his wife. Makes sure she’s safe. Wills does not. Case concluded.” Fans denigrated the senior king.

 

In their comments on the situation, some users compared Harry and his late mother, the late Diana, to William and his father, King Charles III.

 

Harry is a true king and the son of Diana, as stated by another user, who also added, “Look how he loves (sic) for his wife.” William, on the other hand, behaves like his father.

 

He is not going to treat his wife the way his father treated her mother, which is what the British public don’t understand. He opened the door for his wife of his own volition, and she thanked him for it. That’s mutual respect, said another Twitter user.
