Controversial media personality and entertainment critic, Sally Mann, has made a bold statement regarding Rex Omar, the former President of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO).
According to Sally, Rex Omar is unfit for any ministerial appointment under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration due to his poor performance as a leader in the creative arts industry.
In a recent interview on Joy PrimeSally Mann did not hold back in expressing her disapproval. She noted that while Rex Omar is undeniably a talented musician who has contributed significantly to Ghana’s music scene with his impressive repertoire of songs, his skills as a leader and manager leave much to be desired.
She specifically criticized his tenure as GHAMRO President, claiming that he failed to bring about any meaningful improvements to the creative arts industry during his time in office.
“Rex Omar is an excellent musician; he has made some incredible music that we all love. But when it comes to managing people and resources, he is simply not good at it. He can’t manage money. He was given a lot of resources, but he failed to use them to improve the creative arts industry,” Sally stated.
She went on to question why such an individual would even be considered for a ministerial role. According to her, Rex Omar does not possess the necessary managerial skills or the track record to justify being given such a position of authority.
“Why should he be given a ministerial role? He doesn’t even deserve to be the Deputy Minister of Creative Arts, let alone the Minister. Leadership is about delivering results, and he clearly didn’t during his time at GHAMRO,” she added.
Meanwhile, Rex Omar has yet to respond to these claims.
