Right now, some Target locations are slashing the price of the Pixel 6 Pro by an absurd 70%.

This might be referred to as “The Final Markdown”

Google has moved past the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro and is no longer interested in them. Before the Pixel 7 phones inevitably shove the Pixel 6a aside as well, it currently has its 15 minutes of fame. It’s just how things work out. However, it might also be a great opportunity to look for some fantastic Pixel discounts, though in this instance, you’d have to do it in the real world.

Threads have appeared on the r/GooglePixel subreddit (via 9to5Google) with users posting about their good fortune in finding a 128GB Stormy Black Pixel 6 Pro on final markdown and snatching one for 70% off. From an MSRP of $900 to a $270 impulse buy level, that reduces the price. Such clearance stickers have so far been discovered in Massachusetts, Florida, and Georgia.

However, don’t assume you’ll just locate them in any Target because the circumstances vary from store to store. The chain, according to a Redditor posing as an employee, has four levels of markdowns: 15%, 30%, 50%, and 70% off. The only explanation they could come up with for marking down items is because the store wasn’t “allowed to have it in the first place,” they allege. Additionally, they advise against calling their store to inquire about the stock of Pixel 6 Pros. A second unnamed employee claims that not all stores have the same inventory. The Pixel 6 was available in their store, but not the 6 Pro.

Deal hunters have been advised to visit the inventory scanner site Brick. Before leaving, check to see whether they have any stores with low inventory (typically two or one units). Low stock is only a signal and not a guarantee that the price will be low. If you do make the effort to visit a Target, keep in mind to treat the salespeople with respect.

Nevertheless, we are not shocked to learn that stores are clearing shelves in preparation for the impending Pixel 7. Some of the more cunning people on the boards have suggested that those who can find a deal here can trade up nicely to the newer phone on release day. Naturally, we don’t formally endorse that.
