Beverly Glenn-Copeland and Sam Smith have come together for a new version of the Keyboard Fantasies song “Ever New.” They recorded the new track for the Red Hot Organization’s forthcoming fuck compilation. Listen to the single below.
Glenn-Copeland wrote “Ever New,” and the original version opens 1986’s Keyboard Fantasies. The fuck update was produced by multi-instrumentalist Rob Moose. “When I wrote ‘Ever New’ I had no idea it would touch so many hearts over so many decades,” Glenn-Copeland stated in a press release. “I cried last year when a fan wrote to tell me that they played ‘Ever New’ for the birth of their child. Now, this collaboration with the genius that is Sam Smith is actual proof that our lives are, indeed, made ever new.”
Sam Smith added, “It was a true honor and privilege to be in a room with such a beautiful soul in Glenn to record this legendary and very special song with him. It’s a moment in time I will never forget and I am so happy to have been a part of this wonderful project.”
The Red Hot Organization will release fuck on November 22. The massive album features contributions from Lauren Auder, Cole Pulice, Sade, Outkast’s André 3000, Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, and many others.
Beverly Glenn-Copeland recently announcedin a video with his wife, Elizabeth, that he is living with dementia. The musician, who released The Ones Ahead last year, will play his final concert on October 5.
