Last week, Samsung introduced a number of new products. New features were introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Watch 5 series. It was only a matter of time before some of those features trickled down to older models.
That is exactly what Samsung announced today. The company is bringing One UI 4.1.1 features from the new foldables to their predecessors, as well as One UI Watch 4.5 features from the Watch 5 series.
New software updates will begin to be distributed today.
The One UI 4.1.1 update will also be available for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Z Fold. The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic will receive One UI Watch 4.5. In addition, Samsung will release an update for the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch Active 2 that will include select One UI Watch 4.5 features.
Taskbar, which debuted with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, is a One UI 4.1.1 feature that provides a PC-like multitasking experience on the device. It allows users to quickly switch between apps. Other One UI 4.1.1 features include the ability to open multiple windows from anywhere and new multi-tasking gestures. With the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Dual Preview was also introduced. The image preview appears on both the main and cover displays.
Older Galaxy Z Flip models now have an improved Quick Shot feature that allows you to preview and take photos in their original ratio on the cover screen. All of the new enhancements that allow you to make the most of the Flip’s cover display are also included.
One UI 4.5 adds new watch faces and customization options to previous Galaxy Watch models. The new QWERTY keyboard will also make typing easier. Two new watch faces and snore detection will be included in the update for the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch 2. The Samsung Health Monitor app, which includes blood pressure monitoring and ECG functionality, will also be available for these devices.
These features will be available to devices via software updates. Starting today, the first update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be made available globally.
