Samuel Nicholas, the son of renowned music composer Harris Jayaraj, has made a spectacular debut in the music industry. Not only has he composed and sung the energetic track ‘Aiyaiyo,’ but he also stars as the lead in its vibrant video. Released by the prominent music label Think Music, the song has garnered widespread acclaim.
‘Aiyaiyo’ is a youthful and lively track that celebrates the energy, diversity, and vibrancy of today’s youth. Its theme revolves around women with distinct characteristics, blending joy and celebration into an upbeat musical package. With this debut, Samuel Nicholas has made an impressive entry, showcasing his prowess in music, singing, and acting.
Reflecting on his journey, Samuel Nicholas said, “I began my musical journey as a chorus singer in the film ‘Ezham Arivu.’ I have also participated in my father’s music concerts as a guitarist and vocalist. Additionally, I sang for the background score of ‘Dev.’ It’s an incredible honor to be introduced as a music composer with ‘Aiyaiyo.'”
Samuel’s musical foundation was built from a young age. Starting at the age of four, he trained under the Trinity College of Music curriculum, laying the groundwork for his artistic endeavors.
The song ‘Aiyaiyo’ is a collaborative effort, with lyrics penned by Mohan Raj and Samuel Nicholas and direction by Sanaa Mariam. The production team behind the visually stunning video includes cinematography by Zayd Tanveer, choreography by Alisha Ajit, costume design by Harshene Ravichandar, art direction by Pradeep Raj, and editing/VFX by Creative Crowd, Shivasundar, and Sai Muthuraman. Sound design was executed by Anand Krishnamoorthi, and the coloring was handled by Manoj Hemachandar.
