Afrobeats sensation Shallipopi has put out an official statement announcing that he has parted ways with music company Dapper due to a lack of transparency and breach of trust.
He put out a statement on social media addressing fans and lovers of his music. He explained to them the complicated situation he’s now found himself in, properly addressing the issues involved and explaining why he decided to part ways.
NetNG put out a blog post on the issue a month ago, but both parties declined to speak on the issue at the time. In his new statement, he says “I come to you today with a heavy heart but an unshakable determination. I’m Crown Uzama, your Shallipopi and I’ve made one of the toughest decisions of my career. Today, I’m officially ending my agreements with Dapper Music and Dvpper Digital.”
He claims to be taking a stand for artists and creatives round the world who can not stand up for themselves. He cites betrayed trust, conflict of interest and an unfair deal amongst reasons why he chose to end his agreement with the music company.
We look forward to seeing the next steps of Shallipopi in his musical journey.
