Shallipop has reportedly cut ties with music distribution company Dapper Music. The musician has also unfollowed theand Damilola Akinwunmi, the label boss on Instagram.
Dapper distributed Shallipoppi’s latest release, Order featuring Olamide is set to be the last project that the artist and the company would work on together.
An insider who spoke to Netng under the condition of anonymity to protect relationships as they are not authorized to speak on the matter said that Shallipoppi’s contract with Dapper Music has come to an end and talks for a contract renewal cooled down.
Some claims on social media suggest that the two parties are not on great terms but Shallipoppi and the label executives have previously taken to social media to express pleasure and trust in their working relationship over time.
Seyi Vibez cut ties with Dapper and decided to become independent a few months ago so Shallipopi would be the second major artist under the label to walk away if this exit is finalized.
A quick check on Shallipopi’s Instagram account shows his own imprint Plutomania Records as his only record label. He also does not follow Dapper’s label page or the CEO of the company Damilola Akinwunmi anymore.
Dapper representatives refused to make any comments when contacted by Netng.
This is a developing story…
