  • Wizkid, has removed all posts from his Instagram account.
  • This action has generated mixed reactions from fans and critics, raising questions about his motives.
  • Wizkid has a significant following of 18.1 million on Instagram.

Recent actions taken by Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, on his Instagram account have sparked reactions from fans and critics alike. The singer, who has 18.1 million followers on the platform, removed all posts from his account, leaving many wondering about his intentions.

A social media user, identified as Theoon Sage, speculated that Wizkid might be attempting to use this move as a public relations (PR) strategy. Sage noted that this kind of stunt, where posts are deleted and accounts are unfollowed to attract attention, was more common in 2018 but has lost its effectiveness.

He went on to criticize Wizkid’s approach, suggesting that it was not a smart PR move. Sage contrasted this with the actions of fellow Afrobeat artist Burna Boy, who stirred public interest through a dramatic incident involving a social media “bad girl” and even removed a picture from his album cover to generate buzz.

Sage expressed admiration for Davido, calling his PR strategy well-planned, and urged Wizkid to take a page from his playbook. He further criticized the general trend among artists of not seeking professional PR advice and being hesitant to collaborate with songwriters. Sage emphasized that Afrobeat’s global rise means Nigerian artists can no longer afford to be careless or outdated in their approach. He also encouraged them to mature in their professional strategies.

Many fans chimed in with their opinions, with several agreeing with Sage’s perspective. The conversation in the comment section saw a mix of support for his take and more criticism of Wizkid’s recent actions.
