Although Ringo Starr, 82, was emphasised in the weekend announcements delaying his two most recent tour dates as being COVID-free, the former Beatle has now tested positive. The renowned former Beatle’s All Starr Band tour’s remaining six performances will be postponed.
It appears more plausible than dishonesty or error that Starr displayed symptoms of the illness prior to testing positive, as have countless other persons in recent months.
The notice states, “It has been confirmed today that Ringo has Covid and the tour will be put on hold while Ringo recovers.”
“Ringo is healing at home and expects to start as soon as possible. He and the All Starrs hope to soon return to the tour and bring their fans peace and love as always. Fans should expect updates on any new information or changes from us.
Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band — consisting of Toto’s Steve Lukather, Men at Work’s Colin Hay, Average White Band’s Hamish Stuart and Edgar Winter — were forced to cancel their recent shows at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo Michigan and at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, MN.
Even though Starr’s staff didn’t make an official announcement, the sites where the first two cancelled gigs were held made it clear that he lacked COVID. “Tonight’s show, which was supposed to start in a few hours, has been cancelled. Ringo is sick and was hopeful he might continue, hence the late decision. Ringo does not have Covid, according to the message on the casino’s Facebook page.
Since the beginning of the trip, COVID has caused problems. Because Winter and Lukather had been given COVID diagnoses, Starr announced in June that many dates in North America would be postponed.
The following programmes have been cancelled as of right now:
Prior Lake, Minnesota, October 2: Mystic Lake Casino
Canada Life Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, October 4
Saskatchewan’s Sasktel Center on October 5
Lethbridge, Alberta – Enmax Center, October 6
Abbotsford Center, October 8, Abbotsford, British Columbia
Penticton, British Columbia, October 9 South Okanagon Events Center
