Reggae and dancehall artist Stonebwoy has explained why a collaboration with Skrewfaze for a remix of his song “Jejereje” will not take place. In an interview on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown, the Afro-dancehall musician addressed fan requests for this remix.

Stonebwoy stated that featuring Skrewfaze would only be for the “niceness” of it and would not yield any commercial benefits. He emphasized that while he has plans to create several remixes of “Jejereje,” he will ensure these projects consider commercial factors, rather than just fulfilling fans’ wishes.

“When the song came out, many people mentioned Skrewfaze, and he was happy about it, even posting a video. But Portfolio made a point: the industry is vast. From a fan’s perspective, it sounds great, but if you break it down, a feature with Skrewfaze would only serve the purpose of being nice. I already have plans for multiple remixes,” he said.

Stonebwoy also clarified that he doesn’t make decisions about features alone, as he has a management team that plays a role in these choices.

He believes that Skrewfaze could create his own version of the song using the same beat without needing to be contacted. “If the song inspires a legend, the simplest thing to do is to create a version over the beat at that moment. It’s been less than a week, so reaching out wasn’t necessary. I think I even commented and reposted about it,” he noted.

Skrewfaze’s name has been frequently mentioned in discussions about a potential remix of “Jejereje,” as fans have pointed out that the song’s sound is reminiscent of Skrewfaze’s earlier work. Skrewfaze, who has been active in the music industry for over two decades, is known for hits like “Gbalagazaa,” “Bue Bue,” “Maabena,” “Ogogologo,” and “Too Fast,” among others.
