Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Trailer Shows More Gameplay, Battle Pass Confirmation, and Free Post-Launch Stuff

Today’s PlayStation State of Play concluded with an in-depth look at Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The adventure, set five years after Batman: Arkham Knight, revolves around the villains turned government-mandated saviours attempting to avert a global invasion by Brainiac, who has kidnapped the minds of Earth’s greatest heroes.

 

The game’s open-world sandbox is Metropolis, and the journey can be enjoyed alone or with up to three additional people in co-op (requiring an internet connection for both and supporting cross-play). The video presentation displays the characteristics of each Squad member. Harley Quinn is the most acrobatic, swinging across buildings with a grappling hook. Deadshot uses a jetpack to soar or hover while riddling enemies with gunfire using various assault weapons. Captain Boomerang employs a speed force gauntlet to quickly zip around adversaries, whilst King Shark depends on physical power.

 

Every character in the third-person shooter uses a selection of customisable weaponry that may be modified with various accessories, such as scopes. There are also various weapon-manufacturing brands, similar to Borderlands. Players can outfit the Squad with numerous pieces of armour and costumes, some of which grant the attributes of other evil villains like Bane. In terms of absurdity, the action is akin to Crackdown, with plenty of superpowered leaping, swinging, and teleporting about the city while firing bullets.

 

The Squad is shown attempting to rescue Lex Luthor, who is being kept captive by a brainwashed Flash. Wonder Woman makes a brief appearance, and we discover that the Penguin will be involved. Several supervillains will also assist the Squad in their objective. Toy Man improves the team’s equipment while Gizmo repairs their cars.

 

Regarding the previously rumoured live service aspects, Rocksteady revealed a battle pass with solely cosmetic goods and both free and paid premium tiers. According to the FAQ, all in-game purchases are voluntary and have no effect on gameplay. Also, there will be no loot boxes in the game. Suicide Squad will also include free post-launch updates, like new missions and unlocking playable characters.

 

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on May 26.
