The Duke and Duchess of York will house the Queen’s corgis.

Queen Elizabeth II’s corgis will reside with Andrew and Sarah, the Duke and Duchess of York, according to a source close to the Duke of York, who spoke to CNN on Sunday.

The couple lives together at the Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate after divorcing in 1996.
According to the source, the Duchess and the monarch became close because they both enjoy horseback riding and strolling dogs.
According to the insider, Sarah maintained her friendship with the Queen by walking dogs across the Windsor grounds after she and Prince Andrew divorced.
There are rumours that the late Queen owned four dogs, including Muick and Sandy, two Pembroke Welsh corgis. The Queen passed away on Thursday at the age of 96.
In addition, a cocker spaniel named Lissy and an older mixed-breed “dorgi” named Candy are said to have been left behind by her. Who will be taking care of Candy and Lissy is unknown.

Since the monarch was frequently pictured with a Welsh corgi at her feet throughout her lengthy reign, corgis have come to be associated with her.

When the Queen’s corgi mated with a dachshund owned by her sister, Princess Margaret, the result was the dorgi breed.
When the Queen was a young girl, she fell in love with Dookie, the dog owned by her father, King George VI. She received Susan, a Pembroke Welsh corgi puppy, for her 18th birthday in 1944. She supposedly took Susan on her honeymoon in 1947 due to her strong bond with the woman. Susan passed away in 1959.
Later, the monarch amassed a sizable corgi collection during her reign. One, Willow, had a notable appearance beside her in the James Bond spoof she taped for the 2012 London Olympics’ opening ceremony.

The Queen lost the sole survivor of Susan, her original corgi, when Willow, who was 14 years old, was put to sleep. The Queen enjoyed corgis because of their “energy and untamed character,” according to Reader’s Digest.
