The House of the Dragon kiss, according to Milly Alcock, wasn’t difficult to film.

Alcock claims that the usage of an intimacy coordinator and her cordial friendship with one particular costar assisted with a particularly creepy episode 4 sequence.

(This site covers details on Episode 4 of Season 1 of House Of The Dragon. Exercise extreme caution!

Few things of the entertainment industry, in the eyes of this non-actor, seem more awkward than shooting a sex scene; but, one of them is unquestionably shooting an incestuous one. Family sexual conflict in Game of Thrones was almost expected, whether it was between Daenerys and Viserys Targaryen or Cersei and Jaime Lannister.

The Targaryen-focused HBO prequel series House of the Dragon is now following in the same footsteps with a romance between Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock) and her uncle Daemon Targaryen (spoiler!) (Matt Smith). In the fourth episode of the show, Rhaenyra and Daemon kiss inside a brothel after going undercover into the city.

The kiss is strange, inappropriate, and unmistakably Targaryen (else how can they all stay so blonde?) Alcock claims that even though Rhaenyra is clearly in danger, it still seemed secure to capture the sequence. The help of an intimacy coordinator, as well as the actor’s comfortable initial relationship with Smith, were her two main sources of credit for this.

“Smith and I were merely sort of friends. The New York Post quotes Alcock as saying, “So, it was fairly comfy. We worked with the intimacy coordinator throughout the rehearsal phase and blocked it out months in advance.

Alcock also says that she and Smith hadn’t prepared with the live brothel nearby—in fact, they hadn’t even seen the setup—despite choreographing the kiss for months in advance.

Our director, Claire Kilner, made sure that we didn’t view any of the brothel-related material until we were actually filming, according to Alcock. So, that was our first time into the brothel, and he was escorting her past the room filled with other dead people. That was therefore extremely shocking. You think, “This is kind of strange and silly.

We recently met these extras who were like, 69-ing for 12 hours, she continues. It’s quite nasty. Because everyone else was in their underwear, we felt rather out of place. You’re never totally dressed without an intimacy coordinator, blocking, and a tonne of friendly trust, it seems quite obvious from Alcock’s read.
