The iPhone 14 is almost here, but according on the opinions of those who haven’t seen it gathered by a site that is selling something, it’s already an expected disappointment.
The Macalope won’t link to it, but if you’re curious about whether or not websites looking for attention are still hiring jerks to do jerktastic surveys to be published under titles like “Has Apple lost its way? The title reads, “iPhone 14 rumours garner tepid response,” and the answer is, yeah, they are still doing that. This one just so happens to be a website that assesses online gambling sites, and the Macalope is legally compelled to confirm that he is not joking here.
Even if it’s a dirty job, is someone really need to perform it? Seems contested.
Consumer surveys of potential buyers’ intentions for goods that haven’t even been published yet are as useless as a pair of 12-sided dice in a casino for the afternoon crowd, the people who arrived late because they were up all night gambling online. Since 2009, when a website claimed Apple was “losing” MacBook sales against netbooks based on a study of back-to-school purchasing intentions, The Macalope has railed against similar studies.
Bear in mind netbooks? Cheap, weak Windows laptops that were designed to destroy Apple by undercutting the price of the brand? Of course, they continue to produce low-cost, underpowered Windows laptops, but no one uses the term “netbook” anymore because advertising a laptop’s low cost and underperformance rarely boosts sales. They stopped using it because “netbooks” came to mean “trash.” Additionally, the phrase “hot garbage” also applies to the way Intel CPUs function.
The MacBook Air, which is still in production and remains one of Apple’s most well-liked Macs, was the company’s response to netbooks.
A few hundred people expressing disinterest in an Apple product they haven’t yet seen doesn’t guarantee that it won’t sell well. In reality, it merely indicates that you are doing a lot of effort to promote your website.
The ironic thing about iPhones, though, is that they nevertheless manage to sell well while being incredibly dull and having no intention of ever being purchased.
“In the June quarter, Apple’s U.S. iPhone User Base passed Android, Now Representing More Than Half of All Smartphones”
We can all agree that even though this is years and years later, the Macalope was correct all along. He made this prediction a million years ago, soon after Android was released, that over time, the iPhone would have a slightly greater market share than Android. Similar to how Obi-Wan Kenobi was correct when he asserted that Darth Vader “betrayed and murdered” Luke’s father, “from a certain point of view.” which is utterly incorrect. The Macalope was entirely mistaken. Even though the United States is one of, if not the finest market for the iPhone, Android is still more widely used.
Nevertheless, unlike what a website you’ve never heard of claims, the iPhone is not unpopular. And it gained popularity, at least in the United States’ fourth quarter.
Even still, Samsung is already making fun of the iPhone 14 even though no one has even seen it because it smells—well, maybe not blood in the water, but perhaps red food colouring. What is Samsung making fun of with the iPhone 14? for lacking the items. cameras and foldability, for example. As you can see, the phone can be folded so that a smaller, thicker phone can be used in place of a larger, thinner one. That is superior. It must also be opened in order to be used, which is preferable to not needing to do so.
