CM Punk

The latest rumours concern CM Punk’s altercation behind the scenes, an Omega bite, an AEW meeting, and more.

Many fans like speculating about the rumours around professional wrestling, maybe second only to actually watching the fights. We examine the most recent rumours being produced by the pro wrestling rumour mill in this daily feature.

Please remember that rumours are just that—rumors. All of this has only been floating in the pro wrestling rumour mill and has not been verified as reality. Every week, we publish a feature called Rumor Look Back where we track rumour veracity. Always remember to treat everything with caution.

Rumor of the Day: According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, CM Punk was the one to land the initial blow during the All Out media scrum’s backstage confrontation with The Elite.

Additionally, Ace Steel allegedly bit Kenny Omega because he believed Kenny was attempting to crossface him during the fight, according to Meltzer.

According to rumours spread by fans, CM Punk’s outburst at the media scrum was motivated by his knowledge that he was gravely hurt and would likely be sidelined for a long period. This is untrue, according to Meltzer, as Punk had intended to attack Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and the Young Bucks regardless of his injury.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live said that the AEW roster had a “rah rah” meeting before this week’s Dynamite, and that the result was a better sense of locker room camaraderie.

Many AEW roster members reportedly claimed that during Dynamite, the wrestlers there were just concerned with putting on a solid show and that the backstage conflict between Punk and The Elite was “out of sight, out of mind.”

According to Fightful, AEW and Bobby Fish were interested in working together under a new contract but were unable to come to an agreement because of money issues. Fish and AEW seem to still get along well even if his contract is no longer in effect.

Shawn Michaels received a promotion at WWE, according to CBS Sports, to “Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative.”
