According to a leaker, Apple’s upcoming fall product releases could include a new entry-level iPad with a bigger screen and an iPad Pro refresh that upgrades the chip from the M1 to the M2.

Apple’s upcoming special events are the subject of numerous rumours, some of which focus on the iPad lineup. The 10th-generation iPad and the iPad Pro, according to a leaker, will undergo certain alterations as part of the updates.

According to a source from China who posted on Naver under the leaker handle “yeux1122,” an event in October could happen and be the setting for upgrades to the iPad. The leaker claims it would happen at a different event conducted after the release of the iPhone 14, thus it may not necessarily be an October event.

When the iPad Pro is updated, the M1 chip is replaced with the M2.

According to the leak, the next 10th-generation iPad will have a thinner form, a more square shape, and a flat bezel, unifying the iPad range’s design language. It is also claimed to have a larger display than the current 10.2-inch screen, however, no specific measurements are given.

A14 Bionic chip, 5G capability, a projecting rear camera bump, and removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack are also rumoured for the device.

Apple will apparently update both the iPad Pro and entry-level iPad at the same time. The chip in the premium tablet series will only be changed from M1 to M2, according to the leaker.

The leaker’s assertions from Monday are not new. Previous ones discussed the iPad Air and early rumours on the impending iPhone 14 Pro.

Less successfully, the leaker also called for the creation of a “iPad mini pro,” which, of course, never happened.

Although the leaks from Monday are encouraging, they don’t really offer anything new to the current tablet-related rumours. The assertion that the display size has changed is novel, but it’s also challenging to believe. This is owing in part to the iPad’s position in the lineup as well as the fact that a change in screen size was significant enough to have generated more rumours in the past.
