The Rolling Stones Have Produced a New Album with Paul McCartney: Report

Ringo Starr is also set to contribute to the project.

According to Variety, the Rolling Stones have lured Paul McCartney into the studio to record on their upcoming album.

According to Variety, McCartney recorded bass parts for the project during recent sessions in Los Angeles. Ringo Starr is also set to appear on the yet-to-be-announced record, which will be produced by Grammy winner Andrew Watt.

At the moment, little is known about the Album. Mick Jagger told the Los Angeles Times in 2021 that the Stones “had a bunch of tunes done” and that they would continue recording when they stopped touring. Keith Richards suggested in the same interview that the group’s late drummer Charlie Watts had recorded his parts for the album.

The Beatles’ key members have only occasionally cooperated with the Stones, with McCartney (and the late John Lennon) performing backup vocals on the Stones’ 1963 single “We Love You.” Other from that, Brian Jones performed sax on the Beatles’ 1970 B-side “You Know My Name (Look Up the Number),” while Lennon and Yoko Ono joined Richards in a one-off supergroup for the 1968 TV special The Rolling Stones’ Rock and Roll Circus.

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones have frequently been pitted against each other in the six decades since they first met, with McCartney telling Howard Stern in 2020 that his band was better because they had a more varied sound. In response, Jagger stated that the Stones were a “huge concert band” in a way that the Beatles were not.

The Stones’ most recent album of new material was the 2016 blues covers album Blue & Lonesome. They haven’t released an all-original full-length since 2005’s A Bigger Bang.
