The significance of Anne Heche’s final resting place is revealed by her son.

Anne Heche’s sons know their mother would have approved of where they chose to bury her remains after she died in a fiery car accident.

Homer Laffoon, 20, explained why he and his brother, Atlas Tupper, 13, chose the Hollywood Forever Cemetery as Heche’s final resting place in a statement shared with Page Six.

“My brother Atlas and I want to thank Tyler, Noelle, and everyone at Hollywood Forever for their kindness, compassion, and generosity of spirit,” the statement said.

“We are confident that our Mom will enjoy the location we have chosen for her; it is beautiful and serene, and she will be among her Hollywood peers.”

According to the statement, they chose Hollywood Forever because it is “a living place where people attend movies, concerts, and other events.”

“She was our Mom, but the kindness and outpouring of the past few days reminded us that she also belongs to her fans, to the entertainment community, and now, to the ages,” Laffon, Heche’s oldest son, said in the statement.

Laffon was shared with ex-husband Coleman “Coley” Laffoon, and Atlas was shared with ex-boyfriend and “Men in Trees” costar James Tupper.

Judy Garland, Rudolph Valentino, Mickey Rooney, Valerie Harper, Anton Yelchin, and Chris Cornell are among those buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which was founded in 1899. It also hosts a number of cultural events on a regular basis, such as concerts and outdoor film screenings.

The “Six Days, Seven Nights” star crashed her Mini Cooper into a Los Angeles home earlier this month.

The actress, who famously dated Ellen DeGeneres in the 1990s, was critically injured, suffering from anoxic brain injury and severe burns. She went into a coma and never came out of it.

Heche was declared brain dead on August 12 but remained on life support to allow time for potential organ recipients. Her representative issued a statement in response to Heche’s death.

“Today we lost a bright light, a kind and joyful soul, a loving mother, and a devoted friend,” the statement said.

“Anne will be greatly missed, but her beautiful sons, iconic body of work, and passionate advocacy will live on.” Her bravery in always speaking her truth and spreading her message of love and acceptance will have a long-lasting impact.”

Heche died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner. Investigators were able to determine that she was under the influence of cocaine at the time of the crash, according to reports.

The actress was 53 years old at the time.
