Thor: Love and Thunder, the next Marvel Cinematic Universe chapter for Chris Hemsworth’s god of thunder, which reintroduces Natalie Portman, is less than five months away, but all eyes are already on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the next Marvel film due in May, and rightfully so. Marvel has completely revved up the marketing engine on this front, releasing two revealing teasers in a two-month period (in addition to wild theories that are popping up). While Marvel has yet to comment on Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok sequel, toy company Tamashii Nations has jumped the gun — and given us our first glimpse at Hemsworth and Portman’s new superhero outfits.
Marvel comic book enthusiasts may see from the attached photographs that Jane Foster’s (Portman) Mighty Thor outfit is inspired by Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comic book run. (Waititi has already stated that Thor: Love and Thunder would be based on Aaron’s narrative.) Foster’s Mjolnir has been reforged from Thor’s original, which was shattered by Hela (Cate Blanchett) early in Thor: Ragnarok. The Mighty Thor statue also includes detachable components that highlight Foster’s elemental talents, as well as a cloak with wires that allows die-hard fans to arrange the scene for photographs and films.
Thor (Hemsworth) is dressed in the blue-and-gold suit that was initially shown in an artwork last month. The colours are vibrant, and I can almost envision Hemsworth and Portman teasing each other about his outfit choices in Thor: Love and Thunder. The new Thor outfit has an elaborate design, as seen by the comprehensive photographs. Thor is using his Stormbreaker weapon, which was created for him in Avengers: Infinity War, and you may switch it out to show off its own lightning special ability. Naturally, like The Mighty Thor, Thor’s cloak also has wires in it to support your fan content dreams.
The Thor statue stands 16.5 cm tall, while The Mighty Thor stands 14.5 cm tall. Tamashii Nations said both Thor: Love and Thunder statues will be available in June for JPY 7,700 (about Rs. 5,000 or $67). There’s no information on distribution outside of Japan, but I’m sure they’ll be available in additional areas. There is no pre-order option for people in Japan as of now.
Thor: Love and Thunder also star Tessa Thompson as New Asgard ruler Valkyrie, who is looking for her queen, Christian Bale as the villain Gorr the God Butcher, whose name says it all, Jaimie Alexander as Thor’s childhood friend and Asgardian warrior Sif, and most Guardians of the Galaxy members, in addition to Hemsworth and Portman (or Asgardians of the Galaxy, as Thor nicknames them in Avengers: Endgame). Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, and Vin Diesel as Groot are among the cast members. Grandmaster, played by Jeff Goldblum, will return from Thor: Ragnarok. Russell Crowe makes a brief appearance as Zeus.
