Veteran musician Timaya has shed light on the perceived high fees charged by Nigerian artists for performances.
In a recent interview, Timaya revealed that the costs of music production and promotion have skyrocketed.
According to Timaya, music video production costs have increased significantly, from N1.5 million in the past to between N50 million and N100 million today, for state-of-the-art visuals.
“The money we spend to bring our music to life and promote it is massive,” Timaya explained.
Meanwhile, Timaya’s comments on why artists charge high fees for performances have sparked intense online debate. Lastly, many Nigerians are sharing their thoughts on the pricing of music performances.
