Top Social Artist misses out on 7 BTS nominations for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards

BTS is no stranger to the prestigious Billboard Music Awards and has become the first K-pop act to be nominated and win at the event. BTS has made sure its name is not overlooked again this year. With seven nominations, they broke their own previous record of four nominations achieved last year.

BTS’ first nomination is for Top Duo/Group, which they won in 2019 and 2021. This is their fourth nomination. The septet’s tracks ‘Butter’ and ‘Permission to Dance’ are nominated for Top Song Sales Artist, while ‘Butter’ is up for Top Song Sales Song.

BTS has been nominated for both Top Billboard Global Artist (Excluding US) and Top Billboard Global Single (Excluding US) for their song ‘Butter’. Last on the list is BTS’ Top Rock Song nominee for ‘My Universe’, a Coldplay-BTS duet.

Surprisingly, the Top Social Artist category has been omitted from the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.

It will be placed in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 15 at 8 p.m. (May 16 at 5:30 AM IST).
