Unfounded reports of gunfire erupt at a Wiz Khalifa concert.

Fans rushed for the exits at a Wiz Khalifa concert outside Indianapolis on Friday night, amid unsubstantiated reports of gunfire.

 

According to witnesses, the “See You Again” rapper’s set at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, was cut short due to a melee to the left of the stage.

 

Many in the large audience appeared to rush away from the stage to the exits as fans appeared to rush away from the stage. Ruoff Music Center, an outdoor venue, has a lawn admission and ticketed seating capacity of nearly 25,000 people.

 

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, three concertgoers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. As of early Saturday morning, the cause of their injuries was unknown.

 

The police were unable to find a weapon at the scene.

 

Ian Hansen, 21, of Indianapolis, was watching the show from the lawn when he noticed the uproar near the end of Wiz’s set.

 

Several concertgoers claimed there had been a shooting on social media. However, Hansen and local police were unable to confirm those reports.

 

“I’m not sure if I heard a gunshot… “All I know is that I saw people running towards the stage,” Hansen told The Washington Post by phone.

 

“And as soon as people started running in my direction, it was like a herd effect, and we just kind of started running out of the venue to get away from everything that was going on.”

 

Rory Appleton, an IndyStar reporter, had a similar experience at the show.

 

“There was a lot of yelling about shooting. “We all ran out… climbed fences, did whatever we could to get out,” he tweeted.

 

According to Hansen, some people outside the show were “distressed” afterward.

 

 

 

Many were undoubtedly thinking about recent mass tragedies, such as the 2017 Las Vegas music festival mass shooting and fatal stampede during Travis Scott’s Astroworld performance last year.

 

One fan tweeted, “Genuinely the scariest experience ever, was there, hope everyone is safe!”

 

Logic, the rapper, opened the show without incident.
