Galaxy Watch 5 Pro

Updates to “Performance” are made to Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro Cellular Models.

We are about to witness a second update for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which have only been on the wrists of regular people for a few weeks. This most recent software update reportedly improves performance on a watch line that I believe already performs fairly well while also probably fixing a few bugs.

The first cellular devices we’ve seen to receive this new update are the Verizon models of the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which are available as software versions R905USQU1AVH6 (Watch 5, 40mm), R915USQU1AVH6 (Watch 5, 44mm), and R925USQU1AVH6 (Watch 5 Pro). This update was applied to the Bluetooth models throughout the past week.

According to Verizon, this update “provides performance enhancements for your device” and does nothing more as of today, September 13. Again, I imagine it fixes a few niggling bugs here and there, but if you were experiencing performance problems with your brand-new Watch 5 or 5 Pro, please download this and let us know what you think.

Open the Galaxy Wear app on your phone, select “Watch settings,” and then “Watch software update” to see if your Galaxy Watch 5 needs an update. Once there, you can click the “Download and install” button to see if any new software is available. You will be able to start the install if it is available.
