The addition of lithium-ion models to a well-known on-line UPS family is only one of the new power and cooling options for the network’s edge that Vertiv has unveiled.
Asia, including New Zealand and Australia, now offers the Vertiv Liebert SRC-G room cooling system and the Vertiv Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion UPS line.
“We understand the increased complexity of managing computing at the edge of the network,” says Andy Liu, Director for Integrated Rack Solutions at Vertiv in Asia.
With lithium-ion technology in compact UPSs and a high-efficiency room cooling system for small IT spaces, our new offerings satisfy our customers’ needs for availability, efficiency, and agility. In addition, these high-efficiency systems can support our customers’ sustainability strategies in the data centre space.
According to the business, Vertiv used lithium-superior ion’s power density to cram more battery runtime into the same amount of space as a normal valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery.
Scalable runtime is supported by the Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion, which comes in sizes from 1 kilovolt-ampere (kVA) to 3 kVA and has a 1U lithium-ion external battery cabinet (EBC).
Additionally, lithium-ion batteries typically last eight to ten years, which is roughly the same as the lifespan of the UPS, as opposed to two to three years for VRLA batteries, potentially removing the need for pricey and cumbersome battery changes.
In addition to being substantially lighter than VRLA batteries, lithium-ion batteries also function better at greater temperatures, which lessens the requirement for cooler rack temperatures and, thus, lowers the cost of energy consumed for cooling.
A five-year standard warranty is included with the Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion UPS and battery.
The lithium-ion batteries have an integrated battery management system that keeps track of the battery down to the cell level to ensure safe and effective functioning in order to meet UL standards.
The Vertiv Liebert MicroPOD, an optional maintenance bypass switch that may be put in the rack behind the UPS and allows UPS maintenance without bringing the protected rack equipment offline, is compatible with the Vertiv Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion.
The Liebert SRC-G, on the other hand, provides the best availability and efficiency for cooling tiny IT areas.
The Liebert SRC-G, which has power ratings ranging from 3 kW to 11 kW, is wall-mounted and doesn’t take up any “white space” while cooling IT equipment all year long.
The CE-certified Liebert SRC-G series is equipped with energy-saving electronically commutated (EC) fan technology, refrigerant R410A, and efficient compressor technology, enabling sensible load operation all year round.
When controlling edge IT sites, the Liebert SRC-G also has a sophisticated controller with remote monitoring capabilities.
To enable customers’ critical applications to run continuously, perform ideally, and expand to meet their business demands, Vertiv combines hardware, software, analytics, and ongoing services.
With a portfolio of power, cooling, and IT infrastructure solutions and services that stretches from the cloud to the edge of the network, Vertiv is dedicated to addressing the most significant difficulties facing data centres, communication networks, and commercial and industrial facilities.
