Irish artist Villagers returns with all-new surprise single ‘Mountain Out Of A Molehill’.
The songwriter’s new album ‘That Golden Time’ is mere months old, but it seems he can’t quite stem his creativity. New book Passing A Message is out now through Faber, featuring a selection of lyrics and artwork.
With Villagers set to tour the UK and Ireland though November and December, the songwriter has opted to share something new.
‘Mountain Out Of A Molehill’ is typically beautiful, with the Irish artist’s inherent grace giving it a calming quality. Lyrically, it’s actually a fraught mini-drama, a short narrative piece framed by a near-conversational use of language.
Villagers comments…
“I see it as a kind of psychodrama; a song to quell that relentless attention-seeker within. It’s just some self-administered advice to me and my undulating ego.”
The video for ‘Mountain Out Of A Molehill’ was built by Villagers and Brendan Corcoran – check it out now.
