Warner Bros. and Brad Pitt’s Plan B are working on a sequel to ‘Beetlejuice,’ according to reports.

Fans of the wacky 1988 cult film will be overjoyed.

According to Deadline, Brad Pitt’s production firm, Plan B, is working on a sequel to Tim Burton’s hilarious, ghostly “Beetlejuice.”

According to the site, the project has “long been in the works at Warner Bros.” and is now in the pre-script stage.

According to Box Office Mojo, “Beetlejuice,” which starred Michael Keaton as the titular ghoul who had several misadventures with a recently deceased young couple played by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin, grossed $73 million worldwide in its first year and won an Oscar for best makeup and hairstyling in 1989, grossed $73 million worldwide in its first year. Catherine O’Hara and Winona Ryder also starred in the kitsch classic.

There was no indication on whether any of the actors from the first film will return.

According to Deadline, in addition to the sequel, Pitt’s business is working on “Blonde,” a Netflix movie starring Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe, a Latino-themed remake of “The Father of the Bride” for HBO Max, and another Warner Bros. feature with “Parasite” director Bong Joon-ho.
