Ghanaian musician Belinda Akua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, has voiced her frustration with the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, urging Ghanaians to vote for change in the upcoming elections. Speaking passionately at a National Democratic Congress (NDC) rally in Kasoa on November 12, 2024, Mzbel expressed her belief that the NPP has fallen short on its promises, especially regarding job opportunities for the people.
Mzbel, a dedicated supporter of the NDC, highlighted the resilience and hardworking nature of Ghanaians, stressing that the people are not lazy but have been let down by the NPP’s failure to create sufficient jobs. “Thank you for coming out in your numbers, from the starting point to the ending point,” she told the crowd, adding, “This shows that we are tired and fed up. We need change, and change is coming.”
She specifically addressed the situation in Kasoa, challenging the NPP’s narrative about the area’s residents. According to Mzbel, if enough jobs were available locally, people wouldn’t have to travel all the way to Accra for work. Her message resonated with the crowd and was reinforced by fellow Ghanaian celebrity Big Akwes, who echoed her call for change and urged voters to support the NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in the quest to bring about a new direction for the nation.
