Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro lineups this week. The first pre-orders are scheduled to arrive to clients on September 16, and pre-orders started last Friday. The iPhone 14 versions, however, are already in the possession of certain fortunate individuals. As a result, we now have a deconstruction featuring an initial glimpse at an iPhone 14 Pro Max’s internal parts.
The YouTube account PBKreviews posted the deconstruction, which provides an in-depth look at what’s inside the new 14 Pro versions. When turned off, the iPhone 14 Pro Max resembles the iPhone 13 Pro Max almost exactly. On the interior, though, there are some obvious distinctions.
What features of the iPhone 14 Pro Max are new?
Most of the new iPhone’s internal parts are already visible by taking the screen off. A cursory glance reveals that the majority of the components are arranged in a manner that is pretty similar to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Large L-shaped battery and the logic board are both present, and the new cover has “A16 Bionic” inscribed on it.
This updated logic board cover is actually a metal plate with heat-transfer and heat-dissipating graphite pads. We now know how Apple’s improved thermal system—which was said to enable all iPhone 14 models to maintain great performance for a longer period of time—works.
As was previously stated, the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s internal battery has a 4,323 mAh capacity. The component is a little bit smaller than the 4,352 mAh battery in the iPhone 13 Pro. Of course, Apple asserts that because the A16 Bionic chip has been improved and is now produced using a 4-nanometer process, the new phones can operate without a charger for an even longer period of time.
But the TrueDepth camera, which combines the Face ID sensors and the front-facing camera, is one feature that is significantly different in this year’s Pro models. This time, Apple positioned the proximity sensor below the display, making the entire assembly fit in a space that is 30% smaller than the notch on the iPhone 13 Pro.
The new TrueDepth camera module is really far smaller, as we can see from the dissection, which allowed Apple to develop Dynamic Island. Speaking of cameras, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, like its predecessor, has three rear lenses. The new 48MP wide lens and much larger sensor in this year’s Pro models, however, are readily apparent from the inside.

A deeper look at the satellite communication module and the absence of a SIM card slot are two other deconstruction insights (only in models sold in the US). Below is a link to the complete teardown:
