West Midlands council seeks bidders for £200m contract

Warwickshire County Council has opened bidding for a £200m contract to supply building services, maintenance and compliance services across its real estate portfolio.

The four-year contract will last until September 2027.

The successful contractors will undertake works for various schemes and functions across the county on properties either owned or operated by the council, as well as other properties managed by the authority through trading.

The local authority said that the contract will deliver a comprehensive maintenance package that incorporates three distinct work streams: reactive maintenance; planned maintenance (projects); and M&E equipment servicing (planned preventative maintenance).

The contract has been split into three lots, with Lot 1 covering building maintenance, Lot 2 covering M&E, and Lot 3 covering both disciplines.

The new contract is being managed by the council, rather than Scape, the procurement body of which Warwickshire is one of six shareholders.

Contractors looking for a spot on the Warwickshire contract have until 24 February to express their interest via the council’s e-tendering system.
