Nigerian singer Timaya has revealed why Afrobeat behemoth Burna Boy once ordered colleagues Omawumi and Waje out of a music studio.
Timaya, who hails from Rivers, the same state as Burna Boy, disclosed in an interview with Naija FM, Lagos that the ‘Ye’ crooner was angered when Omawumi and Waje doubted his potential.
According to Timaya, years ago when Burna Boy was in a studio, he boasted that a time would come when he would be paid to board a private jet.
Omawumi and Waje, who were present, expressed doubt, which made Burna Boy angry and he asked them to leave.
“Nothing Burna Boy is doing now surprises me. The guy is fearless. There was one time when Burna Boy, Omawumi and Waje were in the studio, and he [Burna Boy] started saying that a time would come when he would be getting paid to enter jet.
“Omawumi and Waje started doubting him because then Nigerian artists hadn’t started flying private jets. He got angry and opened the studio door and asked them to leave,” Timaya recalled.
