With 20 limited edition supercars, the $500,000 Ford GT’s manufacture will cease this year.

Ford GT LM Edition celebrates winning the 24-hour race in 2016

The Ford GT is making its exit with a nod to its approach.

After a six-year production run, the $500,000 supercar’s production is set to conclude this December.

GT customer deliveries began in 2017, but a racing version of the coupe made its debut at the 2016 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it won its class 50 years after Ford’s famous 1966 victory over Ferrari in the race.

Ford originally intended to produce 1,000 GTs through 2020, however due to the model’s success, the production cycle was extended by two years, to a total of 1,350 vehicles.

Ford’s new $500,000 GT SUPERcar is only for the most ardent auto enthusiasts.

The GT LM Edition, the 20th and final vehicle to roll off the assembly line, has now been made public.

As a nod to the red, white, and blue Le Mans race cars, the GT LM Edition is painted Liquid Silver and is available with either red or blue inside upholstery.

The automobile is made of lightweight carbon fibre, and customers have the option of adding a red or blue tint to the exposed areas that make up the front splitter, side sills, side view mirror arms, rear diffuser, and engine bay louvres.

YOU CAN’T DRIVE FORD’S FIRST $1,000,000 vehicle on public roads.

A cyclonic shape inside the tips of a dual exhaust made of 3D-printed titanium alludes to the vehicle’s multiple turbochargers on its 660 horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine, which also propels it to a high speed of 216 mph.

The commemorative dash plaque, which is constructed of a metal alloy that includes ground-up material from the crankshaft of the GT that placed third at Le Mans in 2016, is one feature that truly distinguishes the 20 cars from all other GTs.

Ford will return to Le Mans in 2024 with the future Mustang GT3 racing car, which will be allowed to compete in the IMSA and WEC endurance racing series, despite the company having no plans to replace the GT with a new supercar.
