With a sketch that included parodies of the remaining three members of the Try Guys, “Saturday Night Live” lampooned the fervent social media reaction to the turmoil surrounding well-known online comedy trio the Try Guys.
Brendan Gleeson, who served as the episode’s host and was on the programme to promote his new movie “The Banshees of Inisherin,” played a CNN White House correspondent who covered significant changes in American-Russian ties in the spoof. To the confusion of host Ego Nwodim, Gleeson suddenly cuts off the report to say that the Try Guys had replied to the scandal involving Ned Fulmer, who was let go after confessing to having a “consensual workplace relationship” with a producer of the group’s web video series.
It’s clear that the story is developing, but CNN can confirm that the Try Guys have responded in an official Youtube video to ex-Try Guy Ned Fulmer, the wife guy-Try Guy. According to reports of the story, “He degraded the brand by making out with one of the Food Babies at the Harry Styles event.”
Eugene Lee Yang, Zach Kornfeld, and Keith Habersberger were portrayed by Bowen Yang, Mikey Day, and Andrew Dismukes. They appeared on CNN in a video formation resembling the one in their original video addressing Fulmer’s departure from the video series, which is produced by a company that all four original members founded. While the three are star-struck to meet with Gleeson’s reporter, Nwodim, who is becoming increasingly perplexed, attempts valiantly to understand why the story is important by inquiring as to whether the affair was consensual.
As Try Guy Kornfield, Day says, “Worse, he did the horrible act of having a consenting kiss and not telling us, his buddies.”
Try Guy Yang says, “We hope he is somewhere on his back, with a gunshot in his brain and gut.”
The parody also made fun of some of the criticism levelled at the Try Guys for exaggerating the drama of the incident, including their promises to remove Fulmer from upcoming recordings and statements that they processed the incident “like a trauma.” The three Try Guys continuously demand that the CNN editors cut to them, talk on how tragic the situation was, and continue to advertise their movies.
Dismukes, speaking as Try Guy Habersberger, states, “Due to the tragedy we are suffering, our editors are working around the clock to delete all sign of Ned from past Try Guys content.” “This conflict is the fight of our life.”
Day predicts that “it will still be amazeballs, but it will also be sadballs.” All of us are analysing this terrible, violent, and presumably racial catastrophe.
While Nwodim is moved to tears by their video and tells them that they are millionaires before leaving her post to go take ketamine, Gleeson’s superfan is unimpressed and thanks them for their boldness.
