Flaunt Weeekly
A live interview on the BBC by Irish journalist Caitríona Perry went sideways when US musician Kid Rock asked her if she wanted to go skiing with him and told her she sounded “sexy”.
Perry had asked Kid Rock, who is a vocal supporter of US president Donald Trump, what his plans for inauguration day were. He said he was planning to celebrate “the rebirth of America”.
“What about you? What are you doing? Where are you at?” the musician asked Perry.
“Well, I’m standing on a rooftop in these very, very chilly conditions. We’ll be on air for 11 or 12 hours so I don’t think I’ll have anywhere near as fun a day as you have planned for yourself there. That sounds like you got the better deal here, indeed,” Perry said.
It was then that Kid Rock, who smoked a cigar throughout the interview, took things in a different direction and asked Perry what she looked like.
“I look like I’m ready to hit the slopes. I can tell you I’m in full-on ski gear here with my hat, gloves, the whole thing ready to rock, because you’ve got to be wrapped up against the elements, don’t you?” Perry replied.

It was then that the Detroit musician said: “I love to go skiing. You sound sexy. You want to go with me?”
After a brief bit of silence, Perry took the comment in stride and said: “Well, we won’t get into that right here so, we’re doing no skiing today. We’ve got a day of broadcasting to do.”
It wasn’t the first time Perry had an unusual encounter in the US – during her time as RTÉ’s Washington correspondent in 2017, she had a run-in with Donald Trump, who was serving his first term in the Oval Office.

While Trump was on the phone with then-taoiseach Leo Varadkar, he called Perry over to his desk and said: “She has a nice smile on her face, so I bet she treats you well.”
