The game was first announced in 2019 with a release date of 2021. At the beginning of last year, Daedalic pushed the release date back to 2022. In May, it was also set to come out on September 1. Daedalic is calling Gollum a “cinematic stealth adventure” that takes place in the first chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring. Part of the game is figuring out how to use a story system that reflects Gollum’s two different sides.
