The NewsNation — Denise Dowse, an actress, and director, has passed away, her sister Tracey confirmed to CNN on Sunday. She was 64.
In a statement to the news source, Tracey said, “With a sorrowful heart, I must announce her passing away.” “I’m incredibly happy to have been her sister. She illuminated the screen and stage. She was able to dance through life and have delight. something from which we can all learn.
Additionally, Tracey announced the news on Denise’s Instagram.
“I must inform everyone that my sister Denise Dowse has passed on to be with our family in eternity with a very sorrowful heart. Her Celebration of Life details will be provided at a later date, she wrote.
The vice-principal Yvonne Teasley character was played by Dowse for ten years on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” and she most recently played the therapist for Molly Carter (Yvonne Orji) in Issa Rae’s “Insecure.” Dowse was a daytime television star.
In addition to acting, Denise also directed plays for the Negro Ensemble Company and the Amazing Grace Conservatory, including “Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story.”
At age 94, actress Cloris Leachman passed away.
According to IMDB, Denise has also played minor roles in the movies Ray, Pleasantville, and Bio-Dome as well as on the television shows “Charmed,” “Girlfriends,” “The West Wing,” and “Law and Order.”
